Papa Tiger's Lucky Numbers - Decoded at the Malls

5 lucky winners have each won $9,776 in AsiaMalls’ “Papa Tiger’s Lucky Number” Guess & Win Game! These 5 winners – one winner from Tiong Bahru Plaza, Century Square, Hougang Mall, White Sands and Tampines 1 - had a roaring start to the Lunar New Year when they won the snowballed prize of $9,776 at the grand finale held on 12 February in all 5 malls.

Tiong Bahru Plaza’s Winner - Ms Lam Mee Yoke
Century Square’s Winner - Mr Soh Yong Kee
Hougang Mall’s Winner - Ms Tan Li Chen
White Sands’ Winner - Mr David Lee Soon Hock and
Tampines 1’s Winner - Mr Lim Tiong Kim.

The atmosphere was tense with anticipation when shoppers tried their luck at the winning number combinations.

All winners were ecstatic about their wins, especially Mr Lim Tiong Kim. This was his first time taking part in a game draw and his number inspiration came from a lady amidst the crowd shouting out the winning number combination.

From 15 Jan to 12 Feb, shoppers who spent $50 got a chance to guess Papa Tiger’s “lucky numbers” to win $2,888 cash or the top prize of $6,888 cash at each of the five malls. When the prize of $2,888 was not won by 11 Feb, it snowballed to a grand prize of $2,888 + $6,888 to be given away in the finale on 12 Feb, 7pm.

The grand finale event held at each mall was hosted by Mediacorp Artistes Guo Liang (Tiong Bahru Plaza), Michelle Chong (Century Square), Patricia Mok (Hougang Mall), Darren Lim (White Sands) and Ben Yeo (Tampines 1).

SWOP for a Cause @ Tampines 1

Following the success of the SWOP Party last year, Tampines 1 held a second SWOP Party at the roof terrace last Sat 6 Feb.

Some 100 participants came with their old but good condition fashion apparel and practiced the 3Rs (reuse, recycle and reduce) by swopping clothes with others. Items that were not taken at the end of the session were donated to Salvation Army.

Lianne, a self-professed eco-warrior, read about the SWOP party in Straits Times Urban. She donated over 20pcs of clothing and brought along her 12-yr-old student for the experience. Lianne believes in the adage “One man’s meat is another man’s poison”, and felt that the SWOP party is a great way of reusing.

As an added incentive, a luck draw was conducted after the event for all participants. Renna won the 1st prize of $300 Carlo Rino shopping vouchers. This was her 3rd time attending a SWOP party and she felt that the event was a meaningful way to start the year. There were also 12 consolation winners of $50 FILA shopping vouchers each.

Proceeds from the event were donated to “Beautiful People”, a voluntary organization which supports disadvantaged teen girls and helps them to integrate into society through education, counseling and moral support.

By early January, Finest will also offer a premium delicatessen counter run by Culina, live oysters displayed in a specialised oyster tank, a wide variety of cut cheese, a sushi counter offering freshly prepared sushi, sashimi and tempura, and home delivery service as well.

Says Stephanie Ho, GM for AsiaMalls, the property manager of Century Square, “We have brought in Fairprice Finest to offer our shoppers a wider range of quality products in addition to the trusted brands they are familiar with. Many of our shoppers are keen to try new kinds of foods and to spend a little more for quality.”

To assist shoppers, Service Ambassadors are also available to offer shoppers information on the available products and even guidance on how certain products can be used.
