Tiong Bahru Plaza All Set To Be The Next New Hang Out

Tiong Bahru Plaza is set to be the next hang out for yuppies, executives, businessmen, students and families alike.

Managed by AsiaMalls Management Pte Ltd that boasts Hougang Mall, White Sands, Century Square, Liang Court and upcoming Tampines One as part of their portfolio, Tiong Bahru Plaza will go through yet another round of enhancement works to reposition itself and better serve the needs of its community.

The office space at the newly acquired Central Plaza office tower will be decanted and converted to retail use that will enhance its adjoining Tiong Bahru Plaza shopping mall. The mall will be revamped to meet the needs of residents in the new condominium projects like UOL’s Twin Regency and Regency Suites as well as MCL Land’s MeraPrime.

Targeted to be completed by 3rd quarter 2008, the total cost is estimated at $18 million with an additional 18,000 sf of retail and F&B areas being created as well as existing areas reconfigured.

The revamp will include an expanded basement offering a greater variety of snack food kiosks, restaurants and services. At the foot of the office block, businessmen and executives will be better served by sandwich bars and lifestyle retail concepts. The current “barren” forecourt fronting Tiong Bahru Road will be transformed into modern and chic dining concepts that will have executives chill out after work and families gather over the weekend. Landscape and water features at the outdoor area will also be created to enhance the relaxed and laid back feel.

With the revamp, “The Mall for Every Generation” may well just be “The Mall for the Next Generation”
