AsiaMalls' Community Spirit in Walk For Our Children

AsiaMalls has given support to the Singapore Children's Society to boost their work in operating Children Service Centres, Family Care Centres and Student Care Centres in Singapore.

This sense of community spirit has permeated to AsiaMalls staff and during the Singapore Children's Society's annual fundraising Walk on Sunday 27 July, the representatives from our malls were present to take up the challenge of a 3 km walk in the beautiful surroundings at Fort Canning Park.

Though the shopping mall at Tampines 1 may not be fully completed yet, teh Tampines 1 centre management team is already raring to go! In a show of enthusiasm and team spirit, the Tampines 1 centre management team turned out in full force together with AsiaMalls staff from our other malls and Deputy General Manager Stephanie Ho.

When it comes to connecting with the community, AsiaMalls does walk the talk!

Unveiling the New Look Hougang Mall and White Sands

Hougang Mall and White Sands organized a joint Re-Launch in September to showcase their major mall revamp and expansion with many new and exciting retail concepts. A milestone in the malls’ continuing efforts to continually excite shoppers with new mall offerings.

At Hougang Mall, shoppers can choose from over 120 shops such as IT retailer Challenger and the new concept Mei Shi Mei Ke by Kopitiam serving authentic local Chinese delights with a kids’ play den at its adjacent alfresco dining area. They can also make use of the mall’s new facilities such as travelators leading to the basement carparks and services such as locker services, SISTIC ticketing services and kiddy cab strollers. A new kid’s play area will be built within the lifestyle hub on Level 5 by early next year.

Hougang Mall has always been a place for the whole family and the mall revamp focused on building a sense of community spirit and togetherness through a Family Camp Out participated by 28 families. The relaunch event also made history in the Singapore Book of Records for organizing the most number of people barbequing marshmallows in Singapore!

The new look White Sands boasts many new shops not previously found in the Pasir Ris area – from popular F&B outlets such as Kopitiam, Coffee Club, Ben & Jerry’s, Wan Chai Tea House, Banquet Signature to lifestyle retailers such as Eu Yan Sang and O2 Skin. Existing tenants such as Popular, Bata, Tom & Stefanie, POSB, OCBC and Iora have also undergone a revamp and expansion to offer a wider range of merchandise and a more comfortable shopping experience. Learning institutions such as I Can Read, Kent Ridge Tutors and Seimpi School of Music have been added to the new educational hub for children.

On 16 September, 107 family shoppers capturing the mall’s “Active Life” positioning were flagged off by Minister Teo Chee Hean for a fun biking trip around Pasir Ris.
