Mall-wide Support for Shop Tenants who Excel in Customer Service

AsiaMalls is encouraging all the shop tenants to improve even further in customer service to provide that special, memorable shopping experience. Shops which participate in AsiaMalls’ on-going two-day courses on customer service or Mystery Shopper programmes will be recognized through various incentives ranging from priority bookings for prime atrium promotion areas to specially created publicity materials.

AsiaMalls will also be launching a mall-wide contest involving shoppers to give recognition to tenants for the “Best Shop Experience” and “Best Service Staff”.

Recognizing that the customer service experience comes from both the centre management staff and the shops, AsiaMalls has introduced various programmes such as:

  • Facilitating customer service training for tenants’ staff
  • Facilitating Mystery Shopper programmes for tenants
  • Raising the level of professionalism, work pride and working conditions of housekeepers and security officers through introducing smart new uniforms, facilitating training programmes and monthly incentives for excellent work performance
  • Making available umbrellas, wheelchairs, prams and the sale of shopping vouchers for the convenience of shoppers
  • Providing Wi Fi wireless broadband access
  • SISTIC ticketing services at Tiong Bahru Plaza and Hougang Mall and Ticketcharge ticketing services at Century Square
  • Priority Parking for mums with young children at Century Square
  • Providing a family-friendly environment for the young and old and the members of our society who may be physically challenged
AsiaMalls is proud to be the first mall management company to embark on Spring Singapore’s Customer-Centric Initiative (CCI) for its 5 malls. AsiaMalls hopes that by constantly evaluating and improving ways to meet, and exceed, the changing demands of our customers’ lifestyles, our malls will continue to be community-centric, vibrant, trusted and focal points for modern living.

AsiaMalls hosts Learning Journey event to SPRING’s CCI companies at Hougang Mall

AsiaMalls, the first mall management company on board the CCI, shared the fruits of their service excellence efforts at a CCI Learning Journey held at Hougang Mall on 1 November 2007. The event was graced by Minister Lim Swee Say and attended by some 35 companies on the CCI programme and AsiaMalls tenants.

“By expanding its role from a mall manager to that of a total service manager, AsiaMalls has demonstrated that good customer service is more than the sum of its parts,” said Mr Yeo Guat Kwang, Co-Chairman of CCI Committee.

“It is heartening to note that AsiaMalls thinks of its customers through its touchpoints and has put in place capability enhancements. This ensures that its tenants are aligned with the mall’s overall customer service objectives.”

The Customer Centric Initiative or CCI is spearheaded by a multi-agency working committee led by SPRING Singapore and NTUC, with representatives from Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) and the unions (SMMWU, SISEU and FDAWU). The initiative is also supported by the Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Retailers Association. The CCI is part of the Go-the-Extra-Mile for Service (GEMS) movement to transform Singapore’s service quality in the retail sector.

Since service excellence is a race without a finishing line, we may not reach a definitive point in time when we will say that we are the “Best”, but in the words of Minister Lim Swee Say, we will definitely try to be “Better and Betterer”!

Tampines 1 becomes reality with groundbreaking on 23 May 2007

The stage was literally set for the groundbreaking of Tampines 1, the biggest development in AsiaMalls’s history of managing shopping centres.

Close to 300 people attended the ceremony hosted by nationally known DJs, Glenn Ong and Yasmine Cheng. Representatives from Pramerica Real Estate Investors, Guthrie Properties, AsiaMalls Management, Project Architects - Architects 61, Main contractor - Kim Seng Heng Engineering, and the project consultant team were amongst the invited guests.

The festivities began at 5 p.m. with music, complimentary refreshments and a welcome speech by Ms Victoria Sharpe, CEO, Pramerica Real Estate Investors (Asia) and MD for International Operations, followed by the groundbreaking ceremony.

Besides exciting stage performance and sumptuous finger food, invited guests were presented with a Tampines 1 notebook as a memento and an information kit.

Slated to open early 2009, Tampines 1 will be a new architectural landmark in the East. Its vision is to be the shopping haven in the Tampines Regional Centre with an estimated catchment of 315,000 residents, including 15,000 PMEBs working in the area. The new mall covers a lettable floor area of 260,000 square feet over six retail floors which includes a basement car park of 203 car park lots. About 200 tenants are expected to move in when it is completed.

Tampines 1 is distinctively positioned and targeted at the “Young, Savvy and Lover of All Things New”. Promising an outstanding tenant mix, this new shopping experience brings to the heart of Tampines, distinct lifestyle trends where fashion, beauty and gastronomical experiences evolve constantly with new offerings every six months.

For the ultimate shopping experience, Tampines 1 has planned a gourmet supermarket, an upscale food court featuring an open kitchen concept, a fitness centre and spa with a dedicated swimming pool – the first in a suburban mall - and a cluster of food and beverage tenants overlooking a serene landscaped garden terrace.

The intention is to be at the forefront of cutting edge lifestyle - where fashion, beauty, cuisine and gastronomy, leisure and entertainment converge. Part of the ongoing features in the mall will be the launch-pad for tenants to regularly showcase their new products and services.

Persons interested in leasing space should email to contact@asiamalls.com.sg and share with us your store concept.
